Second Cup was prominent on the franchise coffee shop scene before Starbucks spread throughout Canada. Offering a range of espresso, cappuccino, latte, brewed coffees, cold drinks and baked goods, the Second Cup is a handy stop for a coffee break. They also serve a range of teas and offer various coffee- and tea-related merchandise for sale.

There is a shopping centre on the north-west corner of Southland Drive and Macleod Trail. The Second Cup is found at the south-west corner of the shopping centre. Access is from Southland Drive heading west - make a sharp right turn just past the service station. Alternatively, go around the corner, turn right (north) on Horton Drive and enter the shopping centre from the back. Or, from Macleod Trail, enter the shopping centre and drive through its parking lot to th.e last shop in the south-west corner.
The stores in this shopping centre are all outdoors. The Second Cup has handicapped parking, and also non-designated parking close by. The shop entrance has a wide door for ease of entry.
Most of the seating is movable. There are two long benches with individual tables and movable chairs facing the bench. In addition to a few more free-standing tables and chairs, there are two easy chairs by the fireplace. The floor is smooth and the whole shop is at ground level.
There is one ladies' and one gentleman's bathroom. These are very large rooms. During business hours, these lavatories are locked from the outside. The staff provide the key upon request. The door locks upon closing. To leave, the user does not have to use the key, but simply to turn the doorknob.
As with any public eating place, this Second Cup may be serving foods containing certain allergens. Some of the baked goods contain nuts, and there may be nut traces on any of the foods, as there can be at any establishment through normal operations. This location is a pleasant change from the busier coffee shops in shopping centres and office towers. It tends to be quieter and more relaxing, while still being very conveniently located near a grocery store, handy for a coffee break while out shopping.
